The predicted last frost date was Mid April; yet here we go again. 3 nights this week threaten to kill our seedlings. Last night it didn't quite get cold enough and tonight is going to be ok. Friday and Saturday however have predictions that belong in December. 29 degrees with a "feels like" of 27 .
We have a system for these things but don't normally have this much in the ground at so called:"last frost" half gallon juice jugs cut off at the bottom make great personal greenhouses and the screw top makes a great vent during the day. In combination with the deep hay mulch, our seedlings are well protected.
