In addition to growing and curing the best quality Spilanthes flowers; this year we've also produced a short film. Out to Pasture is a dark romantic comedy about love, dementia and multi generational family dynamics. We are just starting a festival run. Currently it is slated to premiere at the Fear Fame Film Festival in Tampa Nov 13th & 14th 2026. If you are in the Tampa area, please come out and support our film.
The film explores the heartbreaking roller coaster of emotionally charged outbursts and ludicrous proclamations that are common to people living with dementia. It shows the many forms that love takes when people are struggling with the hard choices life throws at us.
Audience members may be surprised by the emotional toll that bearing witness to dementia can bring. Those who have experienced dementia should come away with validation and a knowing laugh. Through the eyes of a child, a son, a wife we see the reality of those who live outside of reality yet find a way to appreciate what they have and make the most of their day. When it's all over, the audience should feel pretty good about life or inspired to appreciate it more.
