Grandmas Easter Flowers are coming in nicely.
Some day's it's nice. We're getting a day of nice sandwiched between 2 days of rain or snow or freeze for the last couple weeks and for the foreseeable future.
We've had several gusty 60 mile an hour wind days and the Green House still stands strong but the attached tarp over the compost has been shredded.
We're getting supplies for Plan C on that tomorrow. Because the next 2 days it's suppose to rain. My time outside has been extremely limited so far because of a massive web design job that has completely spun out of control time wise.
But . . .

Our Garden Beds Are Full Of Shit!
Last Summer this was totally clay soil. We;ve added wood ash, small limbs nut shells, straw & poop. We grew Barley on it over the winter as a cover crop to discourage weeds/hold the soil/produce more organic mater.
![]() Pepper Found an entire Family of Moles that won't be eating our food or digging holes in the yard this summer.

We've laid down a layer of cow bi-product on all the beds we have been preparing. And we've begun turning the poop and the winter barley cover crop into the soil.
This bed has a row of Garlic mixed with Barley along the edge that has wintered over that we left there undisturbed for the garlic but now we'll get to see how well the Barley will grow if left on top of the ground instead being used as nutrient for the summer crops. The rest of this beds Barley has been chopped and mixed into the soil & poop. So while the humans shoveled shit and fluffed dirt all day Pepper was busy doing her part to get the garden ready too. She found an entire family of moles and 1 by 1 plucked them out and took them off to play for awhile. None returned. There were at least 5 today; bringing her mole kill total up to 8 that we know of. It was a big day! |

Pepper likes to play with her food being for she eats it. The photo is so bad becuse when I walked up to get a "good" shot she ran off with it.
